What is Sinusitis?

Treatment for Sinusitis

The treatment for sinus infections may include antibiotics if it is felt that a bacterial infection is to blame. Decongestants or oral steroids may also be used to help promote drainage and reduce sinus pressure.

The treatment for chronic sinusitis depends on its specific cause. Common home remedies may include, but are not limited to the following:

Saline nasal irrigations
Cortisone nasal sprays, i.e Flonase
Antihistamines, i.e. Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec
Oral or injected steroids

Sinus Surgery
